Overview

This two hour, in-person training will provide participants with information on how to create a Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) environment for preschoolers. We will discuss what DAP looks like, resources to use, effective strategies, and how to plan appropriate activities.

Objective

1.2 a. Understands developmental sequences and milestones
1.2 c. Uses observation and assessment processes to understand children's strengths, interests, and the skills they are working to master
4.2 b. Designs schedules that are predictable but flexible
4.6 b. Uses ongoing observation and assessment to meet a child’s interests/curiosity, learning styles, temperament, strengths and challenges, family priorities, current environment(s)
