Overview
When parents learn their child has been diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, the information can at times be overwhelming and the search for appropriate services and supports challenging. “The West Virginia Guide to Accessing Services for Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders”, published by West Virginia Team Autism, is designed to help parents in understanding how Autism may impact their child’s development, to gain a better understanding of the educational and other services available in West Virginia and how to get started in acquiring resources available to them and their child. 
Objective
2.2.c. Provides clear and complete information in a manner that matches the family’s learning style, preferred language, level of understanding, preferred means of communication
2.2.h. Ensures services meet the individual needs and strengths of each family
2.4.c. Supports and encourages families to identify and use a network of formal and informal supports (i.e., neighborhood groups, faith/spiritual communities, civic organizations, parent support groups)
2.5.b. Engages families in preparation and planning for upcoming transitions
