Overview
This 2-hour face-to-face training focuses on creating a calm, predictable, and engaging classroom environment using proactive behavior support strategies. Staff will learn how their actions directly influence children's behavior and emotional regulation. Instead of reacting to unsafe behaviors, participants will learn to anticipate triggers, teach clear expectations, model calm behavior, and provide positive redirection.
Objective
1.3 Encourages children's development of social and emotional skills
1.3.f. Uses tone, words, and gestures to let children know they are respected.
4.3 Works to effectively promote social and emotional development and prevent challenging behaviors
4.3.l. Remains calm and respectful toward the child exhibiting challenging behavior.
