Overview
This presentation explores the often-unspoken grief experienced by parents who have lost a pregnancy or who are grieving the loss of the healthy child they imagined. We will delve into the emotional journey of mothers and fathers, addressing topics such as coping with grief, navigating societal expectations, and fostering healing and resilience. Through case studies, interactive discussions, and practical tools, participants will gain valuable insights and strategies to provide compassionate support, foster resilience, and help parents navigate their unique grief and parenting journeys. 
Objective

2.1. i. Recognizes the benefits of inclusion for children, families, early childhood professionals, and communities

2.1.j. Responds sensitively to families’ concerns, ways of coping, and child-rearing practices

2.1.k. Shares community resources based on families’ needs, including information about developmental delays and disabilities

2.1.l. Engages in respectful, goal-oriented partnerships with families to promote parent-child relationships and family well-being

2.1.m. Recognizes the impact of family stress on child development and family function and works closely with the family to link them to appropriate community resources

2.4. e. Helps families understand the special education referral and evaluation process, when applicable

2.4.f. Advocates for needed services and resources for families

6.6. e. Promotes acceptance of individuals with disabilities and special needs as valued and contributing family and community members
